Perceptions

As faculty and staff members at Hempstead ISD, we need to continue to improve the perception others have on our school and community. In the public school system, communications is the key. In order for the district to achieve our goals and objectives, we must communicate in such a manner that promotes excellence in every way.

This year we must focus on three main objectives:

At the beginning of the school year, we talked about teamwork. Teamwork will continue to be our theme for the rest of the school year. Together as a team, we can change the
perception of our district.

How can we change that perception? Let's start by being as positive as we can be in the school and in the community. Show the visitors to our community that we are proud of our school and community by exhibiting " Bobcat Pride " in everything we say or do.

As administrators, we must always lead by example. We should set an example of professionalism in everything we do, and we should hold high expectations for our faculty and staff. The example we set as administrators should always be positive while promoting district pride in a way that encourages others to follow.

As faculty and staff, we should always be a positive role model for our students and exemplify a quality and meaningful purpose towards student achievement. We should hold high expectations for all students in order to help each student achieve his/her highest
potential.

Each of us should encourage our students to continue to strive for excellence in their pursuit of learning; not just during the times of testing, but everyday.

Finally, we must not tolerate inappropriate behavior and must learn to confront it whenever we come across it.

Help us improve the perception of our school and community. Our actions must be appropriate at all times in order to promote the positive aspects of HISD and the Hempstead community.
